MT Level 1 & 2 Yoke Technique

This course presents the steps required to perform a magnetic particle inspection using non-fluorescent dry particles and a yoke per the Mistras procedure 100-MT-001. Topics in this performance demonstration course include a description of a yoke and how it functions; the characteristics of dry particles; lighting requirements; types of discontinuities detected by this technique; equipment calibration requirements; surface condition requirements; temperature considerations; magnetic fields; the inspection process; and a video demonstration of how to perform non-fluorescent magnetic particle inspection using dry particles.CREDIT HOURS : 1 Hr
